Ageless ME and Joint Fortify use different collagen preparations for different questions. Ageless ME lists 2,500 mg of VERISOL peptides per six capsules; Joint Fortify lists a 40 mg UC-II cartilage ingredient per four capsules, providing 10 mg collagen. Comparing only those headline milligrams misses the preparation each study tested. [1] [2]
Why dividing the two numbers does not choose a winner
Peptides and undenatured type II collagen are not interchangeable powders with one shared strength scale. Match a study’s ingredient preparation, amount, participants and outcome to the question you care about. Skin-related findings for a peptide preparation do not become joint findings simply because both labels use the word collagen.
“Collagen” can appear on both labels while describing ingredients prepared for different purposes. Reading the words after the amount is the useful first step.
Compare the full ingredient descriptions
| Detail | Ageless ME | Joint Fortify |
|---|---|---|
| Full serving | 6 capsules; 30 servings per bottle | 4 capsules; 30 servings per bottle |
| Named preparation | VERISOL targeted bioactive skin collagen peptides | UC-II standardized chicken cartilage |
| Amount of named preparation | 2,500 mg | 40 mg |
| Additional collagen detail | The entry identifies collagen peptides | Provides 10 mg collagen, including undenatured type II collagen |
| Product focus described by MEL | Skin, hair and nails | Joint comfort and mobility |
Dividing 2,500 by 40 gives 62.5. That ratio compares the weights of two different named preparations. It does not mean Ageless ME is “62.5 times stronger,” and it does not convert one serving into a recommended amount of the other product.
The UC-II line also has a nested quantity: its 10 mg collagen is included within the 40 mg standardized cartilage ingredient. Adding 40 + 10 to report 50 mg would count part of the same material twice. The label does not say the entire 10 mg is undenatured type II collagen.
Match research to the preparation and the question
A 2014 placebo-controlled trial studied 2.5 g daily of the specific VERISOL collagen-peptide preparation in 114 women aged 45–65 for eight weeks. It reported improvements in measured eye-wrinkle volume. This gives the skin-focused ingredient a concrete research context; the trial studied the peptide preparation, rather than the complete Ageless ME formula. Read the original trial. [3]
A 2016 randomized trial assigned 191 adults with knee osteoarthritis to UC-II, glucosamine plus chondroitin, or placebo for 180 days. The 40 mg UC-II group improved on the overall WOMAC symptom score compared with both comparison groups. This finding concerns the studied preparation and participants; it provides context for the Joint Fortify ingredient rather than a clinical evaluation of the finished MEL formula. Read the original trial. [4]
Research matching therefore takes more than locating the word “collagen.” Check the exact ingredient, daily amount, participants, duration and measured outcome. A skin measurement does not answer a mobility question, and a joint questionnaire does not establish a hair-growth result.
Keep the rest of the formula in view
Neither bottle contains only its collagen-related ingredient. Ageless ME also lists nutrients and other components, including hyaluronic acid, MSM and hydrolyzed keratin. Joint Fortify includes its own combination of botanicals and other ingredients. Those combinations are part of the purchasing decision, even when one collagen entry prompted the search. [1][2]
On the checked labels, the full servings use six capsules and four capsules respectively. Comparing one capsule from each bottle would introduce another denominator mismatch. A bottle with more capsules does not necessarily provide more labeled daily servings: both posted panels list 30.
Choose the comparison that answers your question
For this pair, start with the intended use and named preparation. Then read the complete serving, other ingredients and current directions. Check animal-source and allergy information if it matters to you; Joint Fortify specifically identifies chicken cartilage, while a collagen ingredient’s origin should not be guessed from an unbranded capsule photograph.

Our Supplement Facts guide can help with the serving-size layout. The useful conclusion is not that the larger number wins. It is that different collagen preparations require different comparisons.
